After watching Art and Copy we started on a exercise to pick a quote that stood out for you, then make it into a poster. Our target market was college students. As a college student I always look at posters that catch my attention. They have to be interesting. That's how I decided to design this poster. I wanted it to be as interesting as I could make it. I also wanted to express poison gas in a strong way. That is why I used the colors and shapes I did. We then had to change the target audience to older professionals. I then still wanted to express poison gas, but I did it in a more subtle way. I made the flyer more serious, because professionals want to see things that look professional. This process was a little weird for me, because we had to change target markets so quickly. But it challenged me to think on my feet with little time.

Play Date
This play date assignment was very fun for me. When I started my process I had no idea I would get New York and guinea pigs as the two main ideas to create a made up business. This assignment was to tie two unlikely things together to make up one idea. At first I was like guinea pigs and New York have nothing in common. This is impossible. But then I remembered that guinea pigs can also mean that someone is trying something new. Then I thought trying something new in New York like a new type of restaurant would be a great idea. Thus New York Guinea Pigs was born. This restaurant that I created would be a place where entrepreneurs, famous chefs, and other restaurants can try out their recipes in our store without going through the trouble of trying it out themselves. It would save them a lot of money and work. With that in mind I started some research on New York. I then put that into the idea of my logo. As I designed I wanted my designs to come off as fun and comfortable. I designed my materials also on the idea that I wanted it to look like a recipe that looked like someone hand drew on the materials. This project was very fun for me! I actually kind of considered making this a actual restaurant.
